Good Days and Bad Days

This summer has been full of really good days, and really I want to say really bad days but they could be worse so I will just say not that fun of days. I have found our boys fighting constantly and me struggling to be a good mom. I think more or less I fight with a lot of guilt, am I doing enough?, am I calm enough?, am I giving them enough attention? I understand that every mom fights with that once in a while, so lately it has been that for me.
Michael has been really busy and gone to Utah to visit family, so I struggle with the crazy testosterone that seems to build in our home. I want to go and have girl time, I want to do my projects, etc. etc. etc. Part of me really needs to get used to this, Michael not being home because our business is getting busier and busier. So last night Michael and I had a few hours where we went to a wedding reception, we didn't bring the boys, so I tried hard to seize the opportunity to not think about the boys and every day mom duties. It worked for a while. I think I need to make sure to do that once a week, it seems to give me a refresher.
As for good days, while Michael was gone this last week the boys and I went swimming together and boy was that the best day. They both had a blast and were swimming like little fishies in the water. Especially Austin. I can't believe his confidence. He will let go of me and swim to the side. It is pretty funny and amazing.
While this summer is coming to a close I feel like it has been a really good one because I have had the opportunity to re-evaluate myself and the boys and what I need to do for a really good schedule when school starts. Anyway, that is my vent for now!

Joanna that's because you are such a perfectionist! Of course you are an awesome mom... but all you can think about is "what more could I have done...what could I do better" ya know??
Hey I can totally take the boys for ya if you need craft time. Or I can be your girl if you need girl time:)
That's awesome that you and Michael were able to have a date the other night. I think the church really suggests to date once a week... although I think I can count on one hand the number of time Nick and I have been on a date since Andrew's been born!!!
