My Friends

Michael and I have great friends. At first I hesitated to share any information with anyone but family because I didn't know if Michael would survive. The Friday after the initial surgery, my dad and I were sitting in the waiting room. It was early in the morning, I had only slept one hour the night before. I was sitting there in shock, I think both my dad and I were. I had this overwhelming feeling I needed to post what was going on with Michael on Facebook. I hate more than anything to read intimate details of peoples statuses. I am not that intimate of a sharer so I debated. The feeling kept coming back, so I just went with it. I didn't even think about what I was posting, it just came out. I'm so glad I did. I was in my own scared world of what ifs, what am I going to do, how am I going to survive. I didn't think outside of that box at all. Each one of my friends and Michael's friends reminded me of what I have in each one of them. And no matter what I didn't need to take any of that crazy world on my own. There were and are so many people who continue to play a HUGE role in helping Michael and I both get to the next day. One time while I was staying the night at the hospital three of my high school friends were texting me. All three knew exactly what to say to get me through the night. I'm continually amazed at how Heavenly Father has played such a huge role in helping and guiding my friends to do the right thing for me. I don't think I can ever repay them for their kindness, love, and support. I wish I could name every single one of them, I hope they all know who they are. Because I do and I wake up each day knowing how loved Michael, the boys and I are. I know I can say to each one of those amazing people is, "You helped me do hard things." So many people have come up to me to tell me how strong and amazing I have been throughout this whole trial. The only way I have been strong and amazing is because there have been so many amazing people rooting for Michael and I. I will always be grateful I posted one of the hardest most intimate trials of my life, because if I hadn't I don't think I would've made it through the next day without the comfort and love of those people I love around me.
