Practicing what I preach

For the entire time I've been married to Michael I have hounded him about exercising and eating healthy. He hasn't been the best at it and now that we had all those heart problems last year with him, I'm very anxious about him getting his act together. So much that it makes me a little mad that he isn't as motivated as I would like him to. I'm learning that I can't no matter what, make someone do something they aren't completely motivated to do. So after much thought and consideration I've decided to stop hounding, and nagging. I'm done. If he wants to do it then great, all power to him. And then I looked at myself after nagging, uhh, that wasn't good. I was at my highest weight I've ever been, grrr. Ok, I then had to do a double take, How dare I nag someone I love and not be doing it myself. So I got busy, I started counting my calories. WOW! I was eating wayyyy over my limit. No wonder!! DUH!! After I started, a week later a friend at the gym came up to me and told me about a game diet that a bunch of women were going to start doing and wanted to know if I wanted to do it. I hesitated, maybe because I hate diets, I love my treats. I decided to do it, and it's been the best thing for me. I've learned that I can eat healthy and still have my treats too. I also started a weight lifting program by Jaimie Eason. She's a body builder. I don't want to be a body builder, but I do want to be strong and healthy, so here I am my third week doing the program. I'm sore all over but I love it, because it's working. I've lost 6 pounds and 2 1/2 inches around my waist, and an 1/2 inch to an inch every where else. EXCELLENT! I've noticed a HUGE difference in how I feel. Cutting out all of the carbs I was eating and eating more fresh and healthy has made all the difference in the world. So much that I will NEVER go back. I still have a long way to go to reach my goal, but I don't care, I'll do whatever I can to stay healthy for my boys. My hope is that Michael will finally make a huge change and never go back either. For now, I'll just work on myself. Here's my favorite recipe I made the other day, It is to die for!! I love it! Enjoy..... Chocolate Mousse Frosting (or just chocolate mousse) 1 can full-fat coconut milk (or coconut cream) 1/4 cup plus 1 tbsp cocoa powder 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract sweetener to taste (Use stevia or powdered sugar for thickest results.)
